Before you install

  1. When Android refuses the install, it is the unknown-sources guard doing it. Grant this app permission in Settings, then confirm the install when the prompt comes back.
  2. An "incompatible version" message usually means the build was compiled for the older ARMv7 processors that recent phones no longer accept. Look for the ARM64 (ARMv8) build of the same version instead.

Download FAQs

What is Smart Keyboard used for?

Smart Keyboard is an Android keyboard app for typing with customizable layouts, themes, gestures, dictionaries, and text shortcuts. It also offers T9 and Compact mode for keypad-style predictive input.

What does Premium Unlocked change in this build?

This build is labelled Premium Unlocked. The label identifies the modified build separately from the Google Play version, which is listed at 3.59 EUR.

How do T9 and the built-in dictionaries work in Smart Keyboard?

T9 and Compact mode use a classic keypad layout intended for one-hand typing and predictive input. Smart Keyboard includes dictionaries for multiple languages, and you can add a suggested word to your user dictionary by long-pressing it.

Can Smart Keyboard create shortcuts for repeated text?

Yes. Auto-Text lets you create text expansions for longer phrases. You can use these shortcuts for email templates, addresses, signatures, and other repetitive messages.

What Android version does Smart Keyboard require, and what is new in version 4.35?

Smart Keyboard requires Android 6.0 or later to install. Version 4.35 adds a Material 3 design, settings search, new English and Swedish dictionaries, an offensive-word setting, an Arabic layout, and typing reliability fixes.

Nothing happens when I tap download

Refresh the page and start again — each link is signed for one visit and stops working after that. If it keeps failing, the file is probably being swapped for a newer build; give it a few minutes.

Android says "App not installed"

Usually there is already a copy of the same app on the phone, signed by someone else. Remove that copy first, then install this file — and back up anything you care about inside the app beforehand, because uninstalling wipes it.
