Before you install
- When Android refuses the install, it is the unknown-sources guard doing it. Grant this app permission in Settings, then confirm the install when the prompt comes back.
- An "incompatible version" message usually means the build was compiled for the older ARMv7 processors that recent phones no longer accept. Look for the ARM64 (ARMv8) build of the same version instead.
Download FAQs
What is Web Video Caster used for?
Web Video Caster sends videos, music, and photos from your phone or tablet to a compatible TV. It can cast web video as well as media files stored locally on your device. Supported device types include Chromecast, Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, smart TVs, and Miracast connections.
What does Premium Unlocked change in this build?
This build is labeled Premium Unlocked. The app continues to focus on casting web and local media to supported TV devices.
Can Web Video Caster use subtitles?
Web Video Caster can identify subtitles embedded in online videos and lets you search for subtitles for a video. You can select another subtitle language during playback. Version 6.0.3 adds an option to use original subtitle styles and improves subtitle format detection.
What changed in version 6.0.3?
Version 6.0.3 improves DLNA and Roku device discovery and adds bulk deletion for History, Bookmarks, and Most Visited. It fixes subtitle font-size controls and HLS/DASH downloads as MP4 on older Android versions. The update also reduces memory use and improves stability.
What Android version does Web Video Caster require?
Web Video Caster requires Android 7.1 or later to install. When you tap the downloaded file, Android opens its installer and may show a prompt about installing from that source. Whether to allow that installation is your choice.
Nothing happens when I tap download
Refresh the page and start again — each link is signed for one visit and stops working after that. If it keeps failing, the file is probably being swapped for a newer build; give it a few minutes.
Android says "App not installed"
Usually there is already a copy of the same app on the phone, signed by someone else. Remove that copy first, then install this file — and back up anything you care about inside the app beforehand, because uninstalling wipes it.
