Android how-tos & troubleshooting
The TechBigs Editorial Team writes the technical side of the TechBigs blog: how APK, XAPK and other package formats work, what common install errors mean, how to check your phone's Android version and CPU architecture, how to free up storage for large games, which special permissions deserve caution, and how to verify a file's checksum. The same team keeps the listings on TechBigs current: version, file size, package name and Android requirement come from the installable file and are cross-checked against the app's Google Play listing.
Our how-tos describe how Android itself behaves and turn it into steps you can follow. Settings menus differ between manufacturers and Android versions, so we name the usual path and point out where it varies. Guides are instructions, not test reports: we do not install every build on test devices, and TechBigs does not run antivirus scans. We revise a guide when Android changes how installs, storage or permissions work, or when readers tell us a step no longer matches their phone.
